I just decided to reread the HOT series, and this second chance romance was just as good as I remembered. Matt and Evie have known each other since they were children. They had a serious falling out when they were teenagers (you can read all about it in the prequel; Reckless Heat) and it is now 10 years later. Matt is back in town for his sisters wedding and Evie is back in town after having her life turned upside down. With disappearances and bodies showing up in their small town they find themselves thrown together to figure out what is going on. Will old feelings resurface or will they find that they have changed to much over the years? Mystery and intrigue is in abundance in this book and I really enjoyed their story!

Evie judged Matt on a decision she made ten years ago in high school. Too small town. I expected more and couldn't stand to read another word about her poor me attitude.

Ok so honestly I'm up in the air with this book. As far as the characters go I did truly like them I feel as though they are more real life then some other series I have read. As for the story that's where I'm up in the air. I feel as though it is a good story line with lots of action, some twists and turns that kept me guessing. On the other hand it was pretty long and there was a few times where things got so boring that I found myself almost losing interest. I did grind it out until the end though and thought the extra bonus wedding part was good. Don't get me wrong here I absolutely love longs books that takes me a while to read as long as it pulls me in and does let me go and I feel as though Hot pursuit just couldn't do that.

From the beginning this book captured my attention and held it until the very end. Loved the characters Matt and Evie. I love it when a book reads in color. When you can feel the emotions of the character, feel as if you were in the middle of an action scene or a love scene. Lynn Raye Harris does all of that in this book.

I don't have enough words to describe how much I Loved this story. I'm just starting to become familiar with military romances, and this one is by far the best I have read so far. This guy is amazing. I've lived on Louisiana, so I have to say it tugged at my heart strings every time he called her cher. Hands down the author kept you glued, and I'm so in love with Mr. Girard. Sigh! How she wrote the story exactly how small towns are was amazing. I loved the intrigue, action, love story, and ending. It's a must read.

One military thing, and considering the authors hi and is military I was surprised, it is not normal to salute indoors. I instantly became a fan of the HOT series. I enjoyed not only the romantic story, but the action & suspense throughout the book. I love that the main characters knew each other & grew up together as best friends before falling in love after so many years apart. Much better than your typical 2 strangers meeting & falling in love so quickly like every other book out there.

I tried giving this book a chance, but oh my god the female character was so weak. She was also made up to be really strong but for every little thing she would tear up. It was pretty pathetic, also her sister is missing and she looks at the guy and wants to have sex. I think finding your sibling should be a priority. She didn't seem like an adult to me more of a teenager completely childish. It was sad but totally hated this book annoyed me to death.

I did grind it out until the end though and thought the extra bonus wedding part was good. Don't get me wrong here I absolutely love longs books that takes me a while to read as long as it pulls me in and does let me go and I feel as though Hot pursuit just couldn't do that.

I enjoyed this book!!

From the beginning this book captured my attention and held it until the very end. Loved the characters Matt and Evie. I love it when a book reads in color. When you can feel the emotions of the character, feel as if you were in the middle of an action scene or a love scene. Lynn Raye Harris does all of that in this book.

I don't have enough words to describe how much I Loved this story. I'm just starting to become familiar with military romances, and this one is by far the best I have read so far. This guy is amazing. I've lived on Louisiana, so I have to say it tugged at my heart strings every time he called her cher. Hands down the author kept you glued, and I'm so in love with Mr. Girard. Sigh! How she wrote the story exactly how small towns are was amazing. I loved the intrigue, action, love story, and ending. It's a must read.

Fun book, just enough suspense, mystery and romance to be interesting. I disagree that Evie was weak. I thought she was pretty realistic, given the escapist format here. One military thing, and considering the authors hi and is military I was surprised, it is not normal to salute indoors. Call the room to attention yes, but only in very particular circumstances do personnel salute an officer indoors,

A must read!!!

I instantly became a fan of the HOT series. I enjoyed not only the romantic story, but the action & suspense throughout the book. I love that the main characters knew each other & grew up together as best friends before falling in love after so many years apart. Much better than your typical 2 strangers meeting & falling in love so quickly like every other book out there.

I tried giving this book a chance, but oh my god the female character was so weak. She was also made up to be really strong but for every little thing she would tear up. It was pretty pathetic, also her sister is missing and she looks at the guy and wants to have sex. I think finding your sibling should be a priority. She didn't seem like an adult to me more of a teenager completely childish. It was sad but totally hated this book annoyed me to death.
